Bitcoin price reacts to Biden-Trump debate; Altcoins drift into the green zone
President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump faced off today in their first presidential debate of 2024. From deep discussions about abortion policies to fighting inflation and global conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, the debate took a brutal turn as both sides made ugly accusations.
Lack of discussions on cryptocurrencies
Bitcoin surged more than one percent and is trying to reclaim the $62,000 levels. The price briefly broke above $62,000 levels. Speaking of altcoins, Solana became the biggest gainer with gains of over seven percent. Avalanche and Polkadot also saw similar gains. Kaspa jumped over 24 percent in the past 24 hours. Ethereum also showed an upward trajectory and is trading near the $3,500 levels.
However, what disappointed crypto enthusiasts was their anticipation of a mention of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency during the debate, only to find that these terms were completely absent. But to everyone’s surprise, the market painted a green picture and Bitcoin and most altcoins drifted towards the green zones.
As social media platform X is abuzz with opinions on the debate, analysts are already predicting what’s next. Satoshi Flipper wrote: “A Trump win would send SP500 to 6,000 and BTC to $250,000 IMO and it’s going to happen. America will never forgive the Biden administration for the terror its border policies have caused American families. And the 100 million crypto population will never forgive Gary Gensler for shitting on us for 4 years. Biden doesn’t have a prayer against Trump.”
However, MAGA (Trump) coin is down over 14% in the last 24 hours.
