Cryptocurrency Price Today: Bitcoin, Ether Fail to See Any Major Price Change Over the Weekend, Altcoins See Gains
The overall cryptocurrency market, including Bitcoin, saw no major changes over the weekend. Volatility continues to hamper profit streaks for several cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin, for example, entered trading on Monday, April 15 with a loss of 1.40%. The current price of Bitcoin is $62,897 (around Rs. 52.5 lakh) in India, according to the Gadgets360 crypto price tracker. On international exchanges like Binance, BTC is trading at $67,320 (around Rs. 56 lakh).
In a conversation with Gadgets360, Mudrex CEO Edul Patel said that Bitcoin’s price fell mainly due to increased liquidations and rising geopolitical tensions between Iran and Israel.
“Bitcoin appears to be in a range of $60,000 (around Rs. 50 lakh) to $73,000 (around Rs. 60.9 lakh). However, the bulls are defending the $60,775 (around Rs. 50.7 lakh) level. Bitcoin’s immediate support lies at the $64,500 level (around Rs. 53.8 lakh) and resistance is at the $67,900 level (around Rs. 56.6 lakh),” Patel said.
A smaller number of cryptocurrencies saw price drops along with BTC on Monday. These include Bind, Tron, Monero, QtumAND Value circuits.
Ether showed some price growth over the weekend unlike Bitcoin. With a small gain of 3.93%, ETH is trading at $3,126 (around Rs. 2.60 lakh). Despite these small profits that ETH has managed to reflect in the last few days, the asset continues to be far from its previously set all-time high of $4,500 (around Rs. 3.75 lakh) – which it had claimed in November 2021. On Binance, the value of ETH stands at $3,024 (approximately Rs. 2.52 lakh).
“The technical analysis of ETH (+7.3%) shows a strong trend formation, indicating that the best is yet to come. Some analysts even predict that ETH will cross $6,000 (around Rs. 5 lakh),” Parth Chaturvedi, Investments Lead, CoinSwitch Ventures, told Gadgets360.
Most cryptocurrencies lagged Ether on Monday and managed to see profits. These include Binance coin, Solana, Currency in USD, Ripple, DogemonetaAND Cardan.
Avalanche, Shiba Inu, Bitcoin Cash, Polka dot, Chain shirt, Polygon, LitecoinAND Uniswap also recorded small gains.
The overall cryptocurrency market capitalization increased by 5.42% in the last 24 hours. The market valuation, as of Monday, stands at $2.37 trillion (around Rs 2,840 crore), it showed CoinMarketCap.
In other news, Bloomberg reported that BTC and ETH ETFs may soon launch in Hong Kong; even before the BTC halving event. This could potentially unlock up to $25 billion (around Rs. 2,08,583 crore) in demand, according to Matrixport, as investors from mainland China could potentially move billions through the Stock Connect program.
