How a Crypto Trader Made Over $100K with Two Tweets
Ethereum layer 2 solution Explosion remains a lucrative place to make money. On Thursday, Twitter user Punk9059 – a notable pseudonymous crypto personality – said he had made well over $100,000 in crypto, primarily by posting two tweets related to the Pacmoon meme coin.
“I received over $100,000 for two tweets,” Punk9059 tweeted. “What’s crazy is I had no idea this was going to happen.”
Pacmoon is a meme currency on Blast Network, which launched its mainnet in late February. The Blast network attracted considerable attention, accumulating over $1.4 billion in total value locked before its launch. upcoming BLAST token airdrop at the end of June.
Meme coins they are tokens based on memes, celebrities or internet brands. Pacmoon uses visuals inspired by Pac-Man and rewards social media interaction and community engagement by giving supporters tokens for sharing relevant content.
Showing the tweets, Punk9059 – who works for Memeland and was previously at Proof – said the first tweet was about news of a free airdrop of Pacmoon (PAC) tokens to Blast stakeholders, along with their referral code, on February 28th. It was a popular tweet, sure, but the benefits were even greater than expected thanks to a mistake.
“This tweet went viral,” said Punk9059. “People copied/pasted the text. Is my friend [Frank DeGods] mistakenly tweeted my code instead of his.
Frank DeGods, also known as Rohun Vora, is the founder of the DeGods and y00ts NFT projects and commands a sizable Twitter following. His misguided referral code sharing ended up paying off big for Punk9059 – even though at the time the PAC token wasn’t worth much.
Punk9059 said he gave Frank $50 as a thank you after he mistakenly tweeted the wrong referral code. And that tweet, including a photo of Frank holding a $50 bill while being hugged by Punk9059, also went viral – earning him more rewards.
He received 354,179 PAC for referrals, followed by another 698,137 PAC tokens for tweet views, totaling 1,052,316 tokens – which equates to $168,370 on Thursday. At the time of writing, this count is worth about $218,000, with the PAC increasing 7% in the last 24 hours.
“There were a few more tweets in between, but these two did most of the work,” said Punk9059. “The best part? My followers also got a W if they saw the tweet and registered.”
“We will accept it,” he added.
Punk9059 did not immediately respond to Decrypt’s request for comment.
