As meme coins once again outperform crypto market benchmarks, Mog Coin (MOG), a cat-themed meme cryptocurrency on Ethereum (ETH) and Base (BASE), joins the elite club of the top 100 digital assets. It is struggling to surpass the market cap of Neo (NEO), a 10-year-old cryptocurrency.
New SHIB competitor MOG jumps into top 100, close to overtaking NEO, XTZ, STRK
Mog Coin (MOG), a cat-themed meme coin on EVM, has seen a 15.6% price increase today, July 15, 2024. Its market cap has surpassed $755 million in equivalent, allowing MOG to become the 100th largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

Three hours ago at around 9:00 am (UTC), Mog Coin (MOG) hit an all-time high of over $0.000002184 per coin. In total, the MOG price has added 147.8% in the past 30 days.
With these gains, MOG coin is competing with veteran cryptocurrencies Neo (NEO) and Tezos (XTZ), as well as Starknet (STRK), a new-generation L2 equivalent EVM.
Mog Coin (MOG) is touted by developers as the “first internet culture currency” with zero intrinsic value. It was issued on the Ethereum (ETH) and Base (BASE) blockchains.
Another major cat-themed meme coin, Popcat (POPCAT), witnessed a 24% price spike and became the 109th largest cryptocurrency. It has already surpassed the “Chinese Polygon” Coinflux (CFX) and is poised to replace Gnosis (GNO), one of the most popular coins of the ICO era.
Meme coins lead the recovery once again
As such, the cat-themed meme coin segment is the fastest-growing today. This group added 26% overnight, while Solana-based meme cryptos rose 11%.
The meme coin sphere as a whole is growing twice as fast as the cryptocurrency market. While the net cap of digital assets added 3.7%, meme coins soared 6.6%.
Meanwhile, all of the biggest meme cryptos — Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Bonk (BONK), Dogwifhat (WIF), Book of Meme (BOME) — are only up 3-5%. The rally should largely be attributed to small-caps.
