The number of crypto ATMs is seeing a spike after a period of decline. Between 2022 and 2023, the installation of crypto ATMs saw a dramatic decline internationally. According to Coin ATM Radar at the time, only 94 machines were installed in different parts of the world between July 2022 and January 2023.

The main reason behind the decline in the number of new BTC ATMs was the subsequent failure of promising crypto projects such as Earth and the FTX Exchange. Over the same period, the number of crypto ATMs worldwide shrank from 38,776 to 37,980.
