Rug.fun turns minting Ethereum Meme coins into a competitive game

Want to create your own meme coins and stay robust? This could be the game for you.

Carpet.fun is a 24-hour two-phase game in which investors attempt to create and buy the most and least liquid meme coins. Sometime between when the timer reaches zero? So you’re getting it rough.

This is as degenerate as it sounds. In the first 12-hour phase of the game, players can create or buy as many coins as they want. But only the top 10 coins will move to the second page, with all other tokens being refunded.

In the second phase, called the race, investors have 12 hours to ensure that their bags are among the highest or lowest liquidity chips in the game. To do this, players can purchase or exchange coins with a gradually increasing “mat pool” fee that will be added to the prize pool.

Once the 24-hour timer reaches zero, the first and last place tokens win. Each intermediate “midwit” token is fully robust, with its liquidity going to the game winners along with the mat pool tax.

From the creators of Menta.funan NFT discovery site that was just acquired by Zora, the Context team created AIRDROP as the game’s first token. The team whitelisted addresses that were protected by previous tokens and NFT projects (such as BALD). This token can be used to create or exchange tokens in Carpet.fun.

Built on Coinbase’s Ethereum layer 2 network Base, the first game is currently in the rush phase. At the time of writing, AIRDROP is in first with a multi-million dollar lead, while RUGDOTFUN is in last, just $300,000 behind in ninth place.

As it stands, there is $260,000 in the prize pool that will be distributed to the first and last place tokens.

This comes amid a cooler crypto market, with developers and degens turning to shocking new tactics to pump tokens. We recently saw Mom live perform degrading acts if his son’s meme coin reached a certain market value, while another developer promised he wouldn’t be able to pull the rug out from under him for not having hands… he had hands and pulled the rug.
